Mullayangiri trek

This trip was long time due. We had debated on various dates and finally settled in for december 25th. However, the place was decided a day before.. to add to it, the room was booked 5 hours before the journey and the itinerary changed every now and then ;)

We left bangalore very early in the morning (i.e 8 in the morn!).. had amazing tatte idlis in tumkur and then our journey towards nature began! We had many pit-stops in the course to enjoy serene beauty of Nature.. climbed a tree..  played in the stream.. wonderful feeling... finally reached kalasa in the night after realizing that pit-stop's not gonna help since the whole place was embellished by streams and trees! After the tiring day, we went to sleep with no energy left and soon the place was lull.

It was 7 in the morning when i finally opened my eyes.. it was still dark outside.. curious, i stepped outside.. the whole place was covered by fog.. it was like a protective layer to shield off the first rays from the sun... undaunted, the rays were trying their best to pierce through and touch the ground. At a distance of around half a kilometer from the guest house was the viewpoint.. every tree seemed artistic.. every sight made a part of landscape painting.. every web graced by tiny droplets.. everything looked so perfect.. so soothing..

We left for hanumangundi falls at around 10. It was hell crowded but still the best place! we made a daring attempt to go under falls since not many were there. It was amazing.. we put our heads down under the falls one by one as though we are surrendering ourself to Nature. Every drop hit like a stone but taking away body pain..

Caution: The rocks are very slippery. Do not make any attempt to stand or walk on rocks, instead crawl. Before you realize its slippery u will hit the rock with a cut on ur chin or broken nose.

This happened to one of our friend too and we rushed to the hospital in kudremukh where she got two stitches on her chin.

Next day was the roadtrip to mullayangiri.. All credit goes to our car which did major part of trekking and ofcourse to our skilled driver (tk).. he was certified an "Excellent driver" then and there by me! Its the most dangerous and beautiful road! guess they both go hand in hand ;) One side reveals abysmal space with trees bulging outwards and the other side is the hill and you have various hairpin curves to tackle and to top it all, the road is just enough for one vehicle to travel..

We were above clouds.. high up on the hills.. could see only greenery till far away.. no sign of cities.. no sign of traffic.. no tension.. no turmoil.. no work.. it was just nature and us. Walking amidst nature.. empty stares at various trees.. feeling the wind play on the skin.. listening to the streams flowing down the hill somewhere near.. it was so mesmerizing and yes that is what i call "being alive"! No goal, no destination, no cell phones, no network, just the Nature in front of you to explore!
