kuch is tarah

My friends always say im absent minded but i usually ward off their argument with my i-was-thinking-something attitude. Unfortunately, there are some events which doesn't want to fade away without notice.

I had raised a ticket complaining about the noise in my laptop. The technician had suggested for a fan replacement and today he called me up to inform that my laptop was ready. On the way to the tp center i met one of my friend. It took me sometime to smile back to her since i was in the process of brainstorming on where i have met her. Guess i have a pretty good database in stock, it fetched the necessary details as fast as it can. She was one of my school friend. We smiled as we neared and said "hi" (we were still walking) and i just passed her! I just PASSED her without saying anything!! I have no idea why i dint stop. I could see the puzzled look in her face. I turned back for a second chance, a very much needed chance to alter my dumb act, but it was too late. I tried calling her name....... hmmmm.....  guess it needed another database query :( by the time i knew her name, i could just see fragile image of her.. so i just walked away.

Even while writing this post im still wondering why the hell i dint stop and talk to her. well, i still dont have a clue.

Note: I was just googling the word "Absent mindedness" in wikipedia. It says,
Guess what? I have all those qualities :P

Nature's calling

This long weekend* the roadmap was set for rejuvenation again. Amidst mixed responses of Yes, No and dont know, we finally could count 6 of us ready for the trip. The plan was to trek the highest peak in Coorg, Tadiandamol, the trekker's paradise.

Friday, after having wonderful neer dosas, we left bangalore at around 8.30 in the morning though the plan was to leave by 6.00! We spent most of the day traveling. By evening we reached dubare forest. Though rafting was the idea which amused us more, we eventually dropped the plan and took a motor boat looking at the still, placid water. There were around 8-9 elephants. The bonding between the mahout and the elephant is mind blowing. We spoke to one of the person there, when he called out his elephant's name only that turned towards him out of the lot. They share an amazing bonding, a bonding for life. We were lucky enough to see 3 friends who always stayed together and were having fun. It was a great feeling to watch them care for each other.

Next day, as per the plan we reached kakkabe at around 1. While we were busy having lunch in a home stay who were kind enough to offer us food, thick clouds gathered and within no-time started pouring heavily. The clouds assured us that it would rain forever and we had no idea what we can do sitting there the whole day. Our plans were desolated, to add to our anguish, we had no rooms booked to stay back. As a last resort, we decided to pitch in the tents outside the home stay if it doesnt stop rainin. Everyone was expecting some miracle to happen. Seems like God listened to our woes, heavy pour finally trickled down and stopped after sometime.

They say everything happens for a good cause. well, i usually don't believe in it but this time i had no choice!  After heavy rain, the place was covered with clouds leaving no traces of sun, cool breeze, pleasant weather, it was no less than winter and made it a perfect time to trek :) The result? we made it to the top of the hill with less time-please-stops!! Resting on the rocks high up there, listening to the music and watching others put up the tents is such a wonderful feeling :P

Doing nothing but staring into the blue sky, trying to identify the creature the cloud forms into, is ecstasy. To witness sunset, sky painted with various colors, dark overpowering the light, twinkling lights decorating the sky, in the background various insects, birds singing in their own way, wind playing with your hairs... the ultimate bliss.. heavenly. No word can do the justice for the feeling you get when you are with Nature. You gotta be there to feel it!

The whole day came as a surprise package. There was heat, rain, cold, wind, all kinds in a single day :) sometime, there was heavy wind trying to blow us away, next moment there was rain and the other moment it was freezing cold. The next morning was even more beautiful. The clouds were flowing between the hills and looked like a waterfall. The hilltops were like islands in the ocean of clouds. We stared at it endlessly, eyes captured every moment of it, heart jumped in excitement, the sheer thought of it was so mesmerizing. Finally it was time for us to leave that beautiful place and join the rat race.

*The long weekend im talking about is 2nd, 3rd and 4th of this month. :)
